Asia Pacific Alliance:
Advancing the ICPD Agenda (APA/ICPD)

“The Asia Pacific Alliance: Advancing the ICPD Agenda (APA/ICPD)” is a network of NGOs, GOs and related organizations of seven donor countries in Asia and the Pacific that are committed to the objectives laid out in the ICPD Programme of Action. JOICFP is a member of APA/ICPD. The Planned Parenthood Federation of Korea (PPFK) is currently the rotating secretariat of APA/ICPD. Through collaborative action, APA/ICPD seeks to enhance cooperation among development, environment, and population/SRH NGOs in order to strengthen policy dialogue with ODA representatives on population/SRH, and development in the Asia-Pacific region, increase support for population/SRH and sustainable development, and increase the effectiveness with which resources are used.

8th APA Conference Hears
from JOICFP on Safe Motherhood (JOICFP eNEWS December, 2006 )

From 16th to 20th November, the 8th APA Conference was held in Bangkok, under the theme of "Evidence-Based Advocacy: the Catalyst for Action."

Over 60 representatives from the seven APA countries, including those from JOICFP, India, China, and the Pacific region attended, as well as resource persons.

The conference started with a reproductive health (RH) supply workshop, and PAI introduced the background and development of the RH Supply Initiative and its benefits to date, highlighting it as a good example of evidence-based advocacy.
