| UNFPA Emphasizes Importance of JOICFP Role
On 6th December, Thoraya Obaid, Executive Director, Safiye Cagar, Director, Information, Executive Board and Resource Mobilization Division, Sultan Aziz, Director, Asia and the Pacific Division, UNFPA, and Kiyoko Ikegami, Director, UNFPA Tokyo Office, visited JOICFP.
UNFPA emphasized the importance of the role of JOICFP as a partner in achieving the ICPD Program of Action, as well as in advocacy, and resource mobilization for global reproductive health and rights.
JOICFP reaffirmed its commitment to reproductive health and rights, and women's empowerment, highlighting its activities in, for example, 2004 the year of ICPD + 10, and preparations for 2005, the tenth anniversary of the Beijing Fourth World Conference on Women.
JOICFP also made clear its continuing dedication to advocacy activities in Japan, including support for UNFPA.
