Feedback Motivates Supporters

On 3rd July, JOICFP paid a visit to Hasse Middle School in Miura City to give feedback to the students and staff on support they had extended to survivors of the tsunami and earthquake in Sumatra in December 2004, through the Bellmark Foundation.

Bellmark assistance focuses on education and children, and has a broad base of support in most schools in Japan. After the earthquake, Bellmark gave funds to JOICFP to be used to assist children that survived.

JOICFP explained to the school what the aid had been used for, and with photographs from the hardest hit region of Aceh, showed how survivors, especially mothers and children, were getting their lives back. This was very interesting for the students.

JOICFP also explained its other activities, such as sending reconditioned bicycles through MCCOBA for use by volunteer health workers in developing countries.

Keeping supporters informed of how their contributions are being used is an important part of resource development and sustainability, helping to maintain donor motivation.
