| Domestic Networking Raises Awareness Founded in Tokyo in 1950, Kiyosenomori Hospital has its roots in community health care through improvement of hygiene and raising public awareness. The hospital is well known for quality care in obstetrics & gynecology and the outstanding numbers of safe deliveries among the hospitals in Japan. The hospital sees JOICFPfs white Ribbon Campaign for Safe Motherhood as sharing its concepts of origin and goals.
On 9th September, the hospital held a local summer festival, and invited JOICFP to participate.
Hospital volunteers gave a reading of the Pika-Pika story with pictures. JOICFP staff sold fair trade coffee and other goods, and told the public about its activities. Funds raised will be utilized inJOICFPfs safe motherhood projects as the part of White Ribbon Campaign.

JOICFPfs presence created an opportunity to develop dialogue with the hospital staff and the festival provided a venue to raise awareness of international cooperation activities.
Local networking and cooperation like this benefits both sides, and reaches members of the public that otherwise might not learn about international cooperation.
