JOICFP Benefits from New Donation Program

Netoff Inc. operates a website www.ebookoff.co.jp through which people can sell their used books, CD/DVDs, and computer games.

For a minimum of 30 items, Netoff collects the goods for sale, and after assessing them, tells the seller a price. Out of that price, 50 yen is donated to five selected organizations, including JOICFP.

The seller has the choice of which organization the 50 yen will go to, and can also select to donate some or all of the money they receive from Netoff as well.

In Janaury 2007, Netoff had over one million members. Many major corporations have included a link button as an affiliate program on their websites through which visitors can donate, and JOICFP’s Japanese website also has a link.

By making the seller choose an organization, this new type of assistance greatly benefits NGO/NPOs as it advocates to a new type of donor; people who might not be exposed to, for example, the issues of reproductive health and community development.
