International Bookstore
Introduces UNFPA and IPPF Publications
For five weeks from 1st December 2006, Kinokuniya,
one of the largest bookstore chain in Japan, held a book fair in
its 'human science' corner under the theme of "Women's
Last Words - Describing my Own Life."
Around
50 publications related to women's issues, such as body, life,
and gender, were chosen and displayed, including the Japanese
versions of the IPPF publication Death and Denial: Unsafe
Abortion and Poverty, and the UNFPA State of World Population
2006, both of which were published in Japanese by JOICFP.
It is of great significance for UNFPA, IPPF and JOICFP that
these publications were selected as Kinokuniya is enormously
popular with the general public, and this greatly raises the
profile of the organizations among the Japanese public.
