What are your works exactly?
In Ghana, integration of community-based Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS project has been implemented in collaboration with IPPF Ghana. Through the project implementation and monitoring, I collect the information on the situation of safe motherhood and HIV/AIDS and the community-based activities. I utilize them for advocacy and campaign as a bridge between Japan and developing countries.

What is the most serious problem in Ghana that you realized?
In the project area, the most serious problem is teenage unwanted pregnancy. Through the capacity building of youth peer educators, IEC/BCC educational activities for young people have been promoted.
What ’s the staple food in Ghana? What do you usually eat? What do you like the best on the menu?
Fufu which made by plantain or cassava is a popular traditional food in Ghana. It looked like Japanese rice cake. Mix the plantain or cassava with boiled water and pound them well You can eat it with stew. As it is very heavy food, you dont need any food more if you have had it. What I like the most was a Ghanaian pilaf of tomato sauce named Jollof. While Fufu takes a little time to cook, so I usually order Jollof as it doesnt take much time to cook.

What were the happiest message and episode you have?
The community people in the project site gave me a nickname in local language which has a meaning of a heroine who saved us.E Not only the first time, when I traveled to the community again, they still remembered me and called me with the nickname. They even made a traditional Ghanian dress for me. I was very impressed and happy with their heartful hospitality.
Who is the best one you met in the activities? Who is your “MVP”?
Albert from IPPF Ghana. The time I joined JOICFP and he joined PPAG was about the same time. He is just like an elder brother for me. We have been working together to develop IEC/BCC tools, organizing workshops, etc.. I feel very much comfortable working with him and happy to have such a working patner like him .
