"Twin Angels" Promote Safe Motherhood in Myanmar BCC
Activities
The project built the capacity of health education officers in the Ministry of Health to strengthen BCC interventions, especially for the production of BCC materials for community-level health education and awareness raising on RH at all levels. Specifically, the project developed a TV drama and picture theater titled “Twin Angels” on the theme of safe motherhood. On-the-job training was provided throughout the process of development, transferring skills and know-how for audiovisual production and the application of multi-solution technology for the development of multiple products through a single process.
Achievements
The project strengthened the capacity of the Central Health Education Bureau, with the provision of basic skills for BCC materials production, both audiovisual and print. Furthermore, the developed materials were utilized extensively under the “Information and Education for Behavior Change Project” of the UNFPA Special Program of Assistance, which JOICFP was also implementing. The picture theater continues to be used by community and youth volunteers, and the TV drama was aired 48 times on national television throughout 2006.

“Twin Angels” was also broadcast on national television.

Just a little skills transfer for editing results in substantial quality improvement.
