If something happened to you that felt wrong or scary (sexual violence)

It is not your fault.
You can talk to someone even if you’re not sure whether what happened “counts” as sexual violence.

Emergency contraception (to prevent pregnancy after sex)

This is not the same as the abortion pill. It works before pregnancy occurs, not after.

• Take it as soon as possible. It works best within 72 hours.
• Since February 2026, you can buy it at pharmacies in Japan without a doctor’s prescription. No age restriction. You do not need insurance or parental consent.
• You must go to the pharmacy in person to get it.
