Our Team
JOICFP’s team combines extensive expertise, diverse skills, and global experience, driving its success and adaptability. The organization is led by a President supported by 13 members of the Board of Trustees, 13 directors, and a dedicated staff across six specialized groups in Tokyo. JOICFP also operates field offices in Ghana, Kenya, Myanmar, and Zambia, ensuring strong local presence and engagement.
Our leadership includes experts in SBCC, 5S-KAIZEN (work environment improvement method originating from Japan), advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). For instance, our Executive Director brings 20 years of experience in Africa and Asia, coordinating SHR and HIV/AIDS programs and building extensive networks of stakeholders. In Ghana, our Country Manager has over 24 years of experience establishing robust M&E systems for SRHR and HIV programs, contributing to national and regional policies.
The team also includes a senior SBCC expert who has led communication strategies for adolescent SRHR in over 13 countries, and a quality-of-care expert skilled in 5S-KAIZEN for health facility improvements.
Through strategic advocacy efforts, JOICFP actively engages with the Japanese government to promote SRHR in its Official Development Assistance (ODA) policies, ensuring increased financial commitments to global SHR initiatives and to advancing gender equality and SRHR in Japan. By influencing upstream decision-making, JOICFP contributes to creating a supportive environment for impactful programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) as well as in Japan. This dual approach – direct field implementation and high-level advocacy – positions JOICFP as a uniquely capable organization advancing
SRHR worldwide.
