The re-election of Donald Trump puts sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) at greater risk than ever.

The result of the U.S. presidential election is profoundly disheartening for all of us who push forward the promotion and protection of sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide.

We recognize another Trump administration’s potential to have devastating impacts across the world, particularly for women, girls, gender-diverse people, and other marginalized communities.

We anticipate the reinstallation of policies like the Global Gag Rule, which can greatly endanger the lives of women around the world, and discriminating remarks uttered by a US president potentially could push back our goal to achieve a society in which everyone’s fundamental human rights including SRHR are protected.

In the face of this adversity, however, JOICFP will continue to carry out our mission by collaborating with global CSOs including International Planned Parenthood Association(IPPF), promoting SRHR and gender equality to transform disappointment into action and anxiety into hope.

”SRHR for all” – to achieve a society in which everyone is respected and their SRHR are protected, let us unite and push forward.
