Who we are

Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP)
is a Japan-based international NGO active in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The scope of our activities include family planning, maternal health and HIV/AIDS, and our goal is to improve the health and well-being of women, men and young people of the world. Established in 1968 under the auspices of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare, JOICFP grew out of a desire to share the lessons of family planning and maternal and child health that flourished in Japan after World War Ⅱ as a community-based movement oriented toward preventive health.Since then, JOICFP has seen its activities spread to over 38 countries in the Asia Pacific, Africa, and Latin America where people of the communities remain central to all efforts. JOICFP is an international collaborative partner of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and proudly serves as its Tokyo Liaison Office.
