Background & Issues
Internationally recognized world heritages are designated
and protected for us to see in this world today. However,
we cannot even come close to imagining the hardships our
predecessors went through in constructing them. We, who
partake in the global health sector, must realize that
we will soon become forerunners for the generations to
follow. Will our endeavors be recorded for them? Or will
they be lost forever, and our efforts repeated again and
again?
Though we live now in a world abundant with information
and technology to support the processing and employment
of information, we find little has been done for the global
health sector. International cooperation activities have
been left behind from the rapidly developing commercial
world, and much of the valuable information and data that
can be derived from health endeavors are being put to
waste. Urgent action is imperative, to retain the information
generated from these projects as an “asset”.
JOICFP Strategy & Goal
DigiPlan is an information and communication
technology (ICT) developed by JOICFP to enhance and facilitate
promotion of population and RH by boosting its advocacy,
behavior change communication (BCC), and knowledge sharing
activities. It applies technologies such as “Assetizing”
Technology and “Multi-solution Technology”
to give new value to information contents gathered from
projects at the grassroots level. These information contents
are then reborn as information assets through DigiPlan.
They are then shared through a global network to link
country-level efforts with the international donor community.
This approach not only shares knowledge among project
implementers but also responds to the needs for accountability
and dialog with policy makers. DigiPlan also includes
strategies towards enhancing BCC in developmental projects,
thus being an appropriate solution that responds to the
needs from the grassroots community level to the global
international level. |
