Movah! Advocacy Tool Kit

With the title of “Hear our Voice!” an advocacy tool kit on ASRH aimed at policy makers and parliamentarians was developed under the Movah! (Movement for ASRH)- UNFPA Asia Regional ASRH Project “Strengthening Advocacy for ASRH Programs through Youth Initiative” (RAS5R205).

This advocacy kit was produced to support young people advocate for sexual and reproductive health information and services, as well as to assist their voices from the grassroots in Asia to be heard by policy and decision makers.

The ASRH advocacy tool kit: CD ROM, poster and message cards

The kit consists of a one-minute video clip, poster and eight cards with messages from selected young people with relevant statements from ICPD PoA. The messages highlight several areas of concern in ASRH in the region, such as early marriage, lack of information and education, early pregnancy, and sexual abuse.

In the process of developing this advocacy kit, over 120 voices on ASRH were collected from young people in four countries, namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines. The interviews and taking of photographs were conducted by sixteen young people in these four countries after JOICFP’s Approduction training conducted in Phnom Penh in March 2005.

The advocacy kit was released at the 3rd APCSRH.
