Population Decline in Japan - it's Here

On 23rd August, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare issued a preliminary report showing that the population of Japan is heading for an annual decline for the first time.

In the first half of 2005 there were 568,671 deaths compared to 537,637 births, according to the ministry.
