Application Guidelines

Individual Applicants
Donations per person is 100,000 yen or more Selected by higher donation amount –> If the donation application amount is the same, it will be decided based on 3) Selected by based on the content of the “Thoughts on charity & Messages.

Corporate Applicants

Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity Participation Procedures

1. Entry as a Charity Runner

Apply from the charity donation system and select “JOICFP.”

2. Make a Donation

Only those selected charity runners in accordance with the application guidelines will be notified of the selection result by email. Please follow the procedures in the email to make a donation.

3. Informally Registered as a Charity Runner

Upon completing the payment, you will receive the email for completing the donation for the Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity. The email contains the URL and password for the entry as a charity runner.

4. Complete the Entry Registration as a Charity Runner.

Complete the entry registration using the URL and password in 3. After completing the entry, the applicant will receive the email with the URL of “My Entry” page.

5. Payment of the Tokyo Marathon 2024 Event Fee

In addition to donations, the Tokyo Marathon 2024 event fee will also be charged. After receiving the email from Tokyo Marathon Foundation, make a payment from your “My Entry” page.

6. Complete the entry for Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity

After receiving the email for the payment completion, applicants are confirmed as charity runners of the Tokyo Marathon 2024.

※2. For charity runners residing in Japan, JOICFP will issue the tax-deductible receipt of the donation.※2. If you do not make a payment within the time limit after receiving the email, your eligibility for the offer will be revoked.※2. If you do not receive the payment information, you will not be selected.※4. At this point, the race is not yet confirmed.※4. You will receive an email from the race organizer before the race to inform you of the start of the payment procedure.※4. If the entry fee is not paid, the charity runner status will be revoked.※4. What We can do with Your Donation

Building a clinic that provides health services in rural communities to protect women’s lives and health in Ghana

(The program outlined is subject to change due to the amount of donation raised)

The maternal mortality ratio in Ghana is about 60 times as high as that of Japan (308 deaths per 100,000 live births). One of the reasons is the long distance to healthcare facilities. In some districts, facilities are 10 to 20 kilometers away from home. Therefore, improving access is the top priority.
At some clinics in the outskirts of Ghana, only limited health services are provided in a rented space of a house where delivery service is not available.

The rented space of the house is too small to run a clinic, and it has hygienic problems.

JOICFP will utilize the donation from Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity to construct the clinic in Upper Manya Krobo District, Eastern Region, Republic of Ghana. Depending on the amount of donation raised, JOICFP also intends to build a well to ensure clean water for the clinic and lodgings for midwives working there. We will partner with local networks, such as healthcare workers, local leaders, and residents and deliver Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services to as many residents as possible. By improving the environment of pregnant women and women with fundamental preventive measures, JOICFP aims to create a society where no women will lose their lives due to pregnancy, delivery, unsafe abortion, or cervical cancer.
